Inertial Measurement

I have been playing around with some accelerometers, magnetometers, and gyros. You can do some pretty cool stuff if you get these going and then send the data to Vpython over the serial port. I will be giving more details on this project in future posts, but for now, this video shows some of what is possible. I will be posting code when I get things further along and cleaned up.

    1. Thanks for the comment. I am trying to develop a coordinated curriculum to teach the Arduino and microcontroller programming. I will be doing a series on Inertial Measurement, but I have to build the foundation work first. Be patient, I do want to feature some work on that in the future.

  3. Hey paul! your arduino lessons are the best i’m currently working on same project where i have to do fall detection for an elderly person. The elderly person will be wearing a tag device which will contain accelerometer,arduino,zigbee now when the elderly person falls his change of acceleration must be detected and if it crosses certain thereshold a fall alert will be activated on receiver which is a distant computer and is connected to arduino and zigbee receiver. I need help on this as i’m in very initial stages. It would be a great help if you could guide us more on the above.
