Raspberry Pi Linux LESSON 9: Using the Linux Sort Command

In this lesson we explore a new and very powerful Linux command . . . the sort command. The sort command allows you to sort a file alphabetically, numerically or by calendar month. We show how to sort forward or backward, and how to send the sorted list either to a file or to the terminal window. This quick video will get you up to speed on sorting in Linux.

  1. I don’t think the lessons are too long, they encourage you to remember the commands and by repeatedly using them you learn them off by heart. People who think they are too long are probably using them as a reference , rather like Google. If you sat down and worked through them you would remember the commands and would never have to reference what they were again.
I think these lessons are great.
Taking the time to fully understand is something we should aim for in all aspects of life.

  2. Wow! I am on lesson 9 in my second day of work on these videos. I can’t believe how much I have learned. Videos are just right. Hands on is the way to learning it faster. Thanks so much for all the effort in making these videos. Manny from Puerto Rico
